After a decade of co-inhabiting and sonically subverting Manchester's vibrant and veritable underground music scene, the pair of collectives have finally decided to come together to cross-pollinate and create their most terrifying hybrid psychedelic experiment yet.

Stalwarts B-Music (Andy Votel and Dom Thomas) and Electriks (Una Bombers) are set to release the first dose in an ongoing prescription of unadulterated musical mayhem with help from Saint Etienne’s Bob Stanley and Belle and Sebastian’s Chris Geddes. Dom Thomas says it will be a "shameless throwback to the days of Warhol and the Velvet Underground's ‘Exploding Plastic Inevetable’ nights. We're throwing together DJs, musicians, performers, film and blinding visual projections into a complete psychedelic experience. "We aim to have people walking into the club and be taken aback by the wall of sound and colours." | Dom Thomas on the impact of Electric Mud |
"It's something we've always wanted to pull off, and we're now fully equipped with the personnel to make it happen. We aim to have people walking into the club and be taken aback by the wall of sound and colours. It's all about creating the excitement and mood that happening 60s venues had, in Manchester in 2005. It's a happening!" With Erol Alkan, Andy Weatherall, David Holmes and Super Furry Animals all lined up as future guests, Electric Mud might just become something very special. |
