Amna Musa | My name is Amna Musa and I am from Sudan. I arrived in England on the 5th of October 2003. I have a little baby boy so I don't have much free time at the moment. Since I came to England I have studied ESOL, a computer course and the 91热爆 Telling Stories course. |
One day just after the start of the rainy season, my grandmother asked me to go with her to their fields. I was only about six years old. The fields were a very long way away. I thought I was going to play but she told me that I had a very important job to do. To keep the fields safe from animals because it was harvest time and some animals like sheep, and goats and cows try to eat the crops. The fields were surrounded by hills and trees. I was so happy because it was the first time that I had seen the fields. At sunset I heard voices. I thought they were ghosts. I started crying loudly and I kicked my feet. My grandma said if you don't stop I will leave you there to be eaten by wild animals. And I was so afraid! She looked at me and she laughed. 鈥淭here aren't any ghosts in the fields鈥, she said, 鈥渢he voices you can hear are the wind in the trees and the animals in the grass鈥, and we laughed and laughed. My Grandma was very special to me. She died recently on Friday 13th of May. She was 85 years old. |
