Life is very precious

Foroozan

My name is Foroozan Panahandeh. I am Persian.
I came in UK 1992 for study. I was Chemistry student before I came to UK. I graduated from Salford University 1997. I achieved degree in Analytical Chemistry.
I carried out with my study in Metropolitan University so I got Master in Quality Assurance Analytical Chemistry.
I was working between 1999 and 2002 in laboratory as an analyst. Then in 2002-2003 I went back to Umist University for another masters degree.

When you think about the worst thing, sometimes it makes you very emotional and you realise that you will never forget that memory for the rest of your life.

The worst thing that happened to me was when I went to visit my family after not seeing them for two years. I was very happy, as you could imagine, but this happiness didn't last very long.

It all started with a simple flu, a very strange thing to happen in September. I visited the Doctor and because he was a very close friend of my husband he suggested it is better to be checked completely. Then they asked me several times to go there and have a blood test, first I was anxious.

As the result was ready I was asked to go back and visit my Doctor but this was very serious from the sound of his voice and he asked me to come alone this time. I knew something was wrong with me for sure, but after our conversation something told me that it would be cancer.

The main thing was he didn't tell me what it was for sure. I wanted to be alone to think and yes to cry a lot. Then I decided I have to pull myself together not only for myself but also for my little girl, who was only five years old, and the rest of my family especially my mum, dad and my husband and brother.

This way I became a fighter so I fought for my life, I went through a lot. But I decided to stay alive for my innocent little girl. Later on I was told it was AML and I had four courses of Chemotherapy.

From this experience I knew life is very precious and each minute that passes has priceless value. No matter if you are rich or poor try your best to enjoy each single second of your life. Do everything to the best of your ability to help others.Ìý
