How old is 'grown up'? 16? 18? 21 when you get the key to the door? Sharon from Fallowfield is 25, but it took buying her first flat to make her feel like a 'proper' adult.
Sharon lives in and pays the mortgage on, a 'lovely' one bedroomed flat in Fallowfield.
Sharon says, "I'd never lived away from home before and got this mortgage last November and it's just a fantastic thing I've gone and done.
"I'm very glad I got a mortgage rather than rent. Being a homeowner is fantastic, apart from having to pay all the bills."
Sharon says that she's extremely close to her mother, but that she understood why Sharon wanted a place of her own. "With me falling in drunk quite a lot, I think she's glad of the peace at three o'clock in the morning."
But giving up her family home isn't as easy as Sharon makes out, "I often go back there," she says. "The other day I needed to borrow something from her and I asked if she'd had her tea. She was making a roast, so that was me round there for my Sunday roast!"
