Archangel: getting that studio tan

Where are you from?

I'm from Oxford originally, now based in London.

Names of band members and instruments played?

Me in the studio. Live, it's me on vocals, Simon Lea on drums and Simon Davies on keys and effects.

Next London dates?

12 May - The Fly in New Oxford Street.

How long have you been making music?

Since I was 13.

Style of music and influences?

I'd say electro-pop(ish), with influences including Bowie, The Cure, Talking Heads, PJ Harvey and Arcade Fire.

Best moment so far?

Quite a few but one that sticks out was halfway through making the album in the middle of nowhere. I was going a little bit crackers, my only company was my cat and the local pub in the evening. I was in the pub when the chef leaned through the kitchen hatch and shouted, "Nick, isn't this one of your's..?" - and Zane Lowe was playing a demo version of my song Physical Energy on Radio 1. That spurred me on.

What song would you most like to cover?

Do It Again by Steely Dan... which I've already done. And The Promise by Girls Aloud.
