Joining the slick kids of the electro punk Newer Wave scene, Chew Lips put themselves firmly in the here and now by sounding ever more retro and futuristic.

The three-strong, girl-fronted group from East London and Stoke Newington formed in 2008 and have since been snapped up by French indie label, Kitsune.

Like fellow Kitsune signees and a previous London Calling act, La Roux, Chew Lips possess a sensual self confidence that you can imagine beneath the spotlights of the most discerning of electro clubs.

They've already toured Europe, taking in Paris at the end of 2008 for what the band describe as their highlight so far, playing to "15,000 enthusiastic French hipsters."

Now about to support the Howling Bells in March 2009, they have managed to pop back home prior to the release of brilliant debut single, Solo, out March 23.
