Over the Christmas period Len Banister has been forced to rest due to a leg infection.听 For a keen rambler like Len, not being able to go for walks is quite hard to take.

Whilst Len has been laid up the Olympic site has begun to take its shape with the main structure of the stadium going up.

Len decides to take his first long walk of the year along the greenway to check up on the development of the site and is quite impressed, although he has reservations about how the recession may affect the proposed legacy of the games.
