In a bid to learn valuable lessons ahead of London's Olympics in 2012, a group of young people from the Shoreditch Trust and Headliners have been quizzing Olympians of 1948, as well as sports fans who attended the Games, on a self-produced radio show.

With help from 91热爆 London staff Shenelle Thomas, Rhasan Brunner, Kamil Boriel, Sam Abe, Pamwan Osemwenhkae and Antonio Akue shared their thoughts and expectations about the games to come in 2012 and also got an insight into how different they were in 1948.听

The star guests included Dorothy Parlett who won a silver medal in the Women鈥檚 100 metres (under her maiden name of Dorothy Manley), her husband, John, who was a finalist in the 800 metres, Sylvia Disley who made the 200 metres final (as Sylvia Cheeseman) and Roy Romain who was the captain of the British swimming team.

In a round table debate they talked about a range of issues, discussing the costs involved in hosting the games, the continuing expansion of the Olympics, drugs in athletics and what it was like to compete in a London Games.听

Frank Hill and Michael Stanton were lucky enough to obtain tickets for the 1948 Olympics at the old Wembley Stadium and they were asked to share their memories of seeing their favourite athletes and what it was like to attend a major sporting event 60 years ago.听
