Creating loud noises for a year, something in Slummin Angels' caterwaul tells us they've been rehearsing for a lot longer.

With a guitar and vocal marriage made in Nineties heaven, sisters Jennifer and Katherine O'Neill strike up chords to echo The Breeders and Elastica's less angular moments. Joined by 100 mph drummer Matt Bick, the rock formation is complete, driving home some truly indelible melodies in London Calling calling card, Weirdo.

Visit their MySpace and all six of Slummin Angels' demo tracks will be bestowed upon you. Take the tempo down, but not the intensity, and you will find Flower Hands, a track stripped back to the band's shoe-gaze core that surfaces all too seldom.

Katherine: another blazing performance

You'll also discover just how much this band have to offer. The demo doesn't appear to make room for any weak links. They look fantastic and the site is littered with radio praise and glittering reviews.

Looking back over the first year of the band's swagger into the rock arena, they agree that supporting Pete Doherty's Rhythm Factory gig was certainly the high to date. And with venues crying out for them over the next four months, these three aren't going anywhere quietly.
