PhotographsYou are in: London > London Local > Greenwich > Photographs > Olympic artwork Olympic artworkMatt Cooke, 91热爆 London Children from Greenwich, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Hackney have made their mark on hoardings at a London 2012 construction site. The schools all came from boroughs where Olympic events will be hosted in just 4 years time. Community group Signs of Life and the Olympic Delivery Authority, the team responsible for buildings the venues and facilities for the 2012 games, have congratulated the pupils for their work in transforming the hoardings on the Hackney Wick towpath. Children from primary, secondary and special needs schools worked together to design images for the hoardings.听 Sebastian Coe said these will be: "everyone鈥檚 Games and this project is one example of how children and young people living closest to the Olympic Park are directly contributing to our preparations." A four year culture and education programme will start in autumn, once Beijing had handed the Olympic flag to London. Greenwich Cllr John Fahy, who represents the borough in Olympic discussions said: 鈥淭his was an imaginative project that gave young people a great opportunity to engage with the Olympic Park and the 2012 Games.
