The winner will go to the BAFTA awards

BAFTA Sixty Seconds of Fame

Last week we showed you the London semi-finalists in Bafta's annual movie-making competition, and asked you to vote for your favourite film. Well, we have a winner...

Ta-dah! Stepping forward on to 91热爆 London's very own red carpet is Tina Lockett for her film, My Darling Wife.

"After finishing screaming, I was astounded," is her reaction to the news of her win.

I'm chuffed, says Tina Lockett

"I thought the standard was very high and I'm chuffed for the whole team. It's a brilliant achievement for a bunch of first-time filmmakers."

My Darling Wife is a first competition entry for Tina's production company, Straight Curve, which helps students to understand the mechanics of the industry and make their own short films.

She describes their winning entry as "an honest look at politics", before hooting with laughter at her choice of words.

"twist in the tale"

She settles instead for "a believable story", which was based on this year's competition theme of "unite".

"We didn't want to make it a slushy love story and there's a twist in the tale," she continues.

The film shoot lasted seven hours while the project itself took two-and-a-half weeks from script outline to the final stages of editing and commissioning music for the soundtrack, which was again "done by one of our students".

Tina's prize is two tickets to the BAFTAs in Piccadilly on Sunday, when the national winner of the award will be announced.

Sixty Seconds of Fame aims to support creativity and actively encourage members of the public to take part in the filmmaking process.

More than 24,000 votes were cast in total across the country in the course of selecting the regional finalists.
