Winston in fighting mood

ā€˜Iā€™ll knock out the oppositionā€™

Thatā€™s the promise from former boxing champion Winston McKenzie as he launches his bid for the position of London Mayor.

He began as a Labour party member - he was the spokesman on sport for the Veritas party, finally, he threw his hat into the ring to become the Conservative candidate for the position of London Mayor.

Undaunted by his failure to be short listed, 51 year old Winston has decided to go it alone as an independent and, pledges to use the discipline of boxing to fight his opponents.

ā€œI want them [opponents] to believe they have lost before itā€™s even begunā€, says Winston

On the subject of tackling the growing gang and knife culture in London, Winston is convinced his inclusion in the bid for Mayor in the May elections will be seen as the example to follow.

ā€œMy very standing as a black man will see the deterioration of knife and gun crime, being a black man and, then succeeding will change peopleā€™s way of thinkingā€.
