He began as a Labour party member - he was the spokesman on sport for the Veritas party, finally, he threw his hat into the ring to become the Conservative candidate for the position of London Mayor. Undaunted by his failure to be short listed, 51 year old Winston has decided to go it alone as an independent and, pledges to use the discipline of boxing to fight his opponents. āI want them [opponents] to believe they have lost before itās even begunā, says Winston
On the subject of tackling the growing gang and knife culture in London, Winston is convinced his inclusion in the bid for Mayor in the May elections will be seen as the example to follow. āMy very standing as a black man will see the deterioration of knife and gun crime, being a black man and, then succeeding will change peopleās way of thinkingā.
