Danny Biddle came close to dying, after being caught in the blast on the Circle Line train at Edgware road.听 He lost his spleen and suffered three heart attacks in the weeks after the bombs. He spent 11 months in hospital recovering and learning to walk again. But despite his terrible injuries, Danny continued with his course at Barking College, with his lecturers bringing books and course material to his hospital bed.
He's since completed his course, and is looking forward to doing an HNC in construction. Now the college has given him a special award for over-coming adversity. I caught up with Danny just before he received the honour, and he spoke to him about what drove him to keep going. 鈥淚 didn't want to let that mad-man win 鈥 If I didn't go back to my life and live my life then he wins.鈥 To watch my interview with Danny in full click on the box at the top of this page last updated: 27/12/2007 at 15:38 SEE ALSOYou are in: London > London Local > Havering > Community Life > July 7 bomb victim honoured
