Elena Shutova has practiced Tae Kwon Do for six years and in the last two years听she has opened up a school in Tower Hamlets and now teaches.听 听 There are a few divisions within Tae Kwon Do, WTF (World Tae Kwon Do Federation) and ITF (International Tae Kwon Doe Federation) being the main two. WTF is an Olympic sport whereas ITF has world championships but is not included in the Olympics.听 Elena is a member of ITF and has witnessed the imbalance of support given to both divisions. Elena feels that non Olympic sports do not have the same amount of sponsorship, training facilities and general support from public bodies compared with sports that are in the Olympics.
