West London girl group the Revelations have been clicking their kitten heels to Motown pop for 18 months now.

But don't think this band are all Sixties ditzies. They take Motown to Show Town! And having just recorded their own version of the Clash's Train in Vain, these girls ain't shy of a show down.

Yes, it's pop in the purist sense, but this stuff has got the substance it needs to stand up. Our London Calling track, Baby I want You to Know, is an earful of jangly guitar with vocals as fresh as a Polaroid photograph.

It's hard not to like this band when, as Annika, Sarah and Louise say themselves, their biggest influences are killer hooks and a sense of joy. Not a bad combination to ride out the summer with.

So far the trio, (expanding to a four-piece for gigs) have enjoyed recording their current album, which they released on their own label, Crazy Dancer Records. Plus, they've already released one single, been tipped in the national press and received airplay on both national and regional radio.

More Revelations

Guaranteed to light up any stage, the band played their biggest throng to date at the packed Radio 2 Blackpool Illuminations show last year.
