"Misanthropic, funky pop!", declares one noble scribe. "Fatboy Slim meets Beck" offers another. Lets face it, we weren't sure what hit us either when Jack Adaptor flew through the airwaves on this week's London Calling slot.

听The sheer variation of attempts to describe Jack Adaptor, perhaps serves as representation enough of a band assimilated as often to 60's and 70's folk as they are slick and sumptuous electronica.

Made up, in essence of Christopher Cordoba and Paul Frederick, Jack Adaptor have been playing for two years and racked up some very nifty sounds, as well as various bonus contributors to the music. One such addition including a new "girl-singer" who the pair managed to marry off to the bass player of Detroit based band, Waxwings on tour in Europe. (A special moment, according to Christopher.)

Other touring highlights include exploding soup and bearing the wrath of some red-faced Cornish locals. Thankfully Jack Adaptor live to tell the tale and tour some more!

Today continental baps tomorow THE WORLD

Celebrating the launch of double A side single, Cordoba The King, on their own label, Supple Pipe, the band are currently playing the heck out of the London gig circuit. You can expect a band as influenced by films and books as by music, though if your favourite artists happen to be Poison, or Be Bop Deluxe, then you'll be amongst friends in Christopher and Paul.
