Diana Beattie's passionate about buildings and she's worried about the safety of some of the capital's finest, located in East London, the home of the 2012 Olympics. While all eyes are on the new facilities the games will create, Diana, who's Director of The Heritage of London Trust, is worried some of the area's most treasured landmarks will remain neglected. The Trust is the only one of its kind which covers all 33 London Boroughs.听 Its aims are simple, to give grants not only to restore buildings of architectural merit, but also funding projects which, once restored, can directly benefit the local community. Follow Diana as she heads to the Bow Road to take a look at the Minnie Lansbury Memorial clock, which hangs precariously over the people of Tower Hamlets. The Trust needs 拢12,000 to rescue the clock which commemorates the life of Minnie, a suffragette and young heroine of Poplar. If Diana gets her way she'll have it ticking again in no time at all.
