2012 costs 'to be monitored'

With alarming newspaper headlines saying that the price tag has TRIPLED to ten billion pounds, Tony Blair told the Commons it's important to keep costs under control.听

Ken Livingstone was prepared to talk figures. He pegged a revised estimate at just over five billion pounds - a mere double the original budget.听

All this on the day the International Olympic Committee were in town to examine progress so far on 2012.
