Darron J. Connett, contrary to what the name might suggest, is not a one-man band, but a glorious ensemble of five fabulous tunesmiths.

Main man Darron is backed up by Andy on lead guitar, Chris on drums, Chris on rhythm guitar and Charlie on bass.

Hailing from the council estates of Shepherds Bush, Darron began cultivating his love of songwriting into real performances at the age of sixteen. Rehearsing regularly, he went on to front several bands, before going solo in 2001.

The present line up was formed in summer 2006, around the release of their double A-side single, Soul Clean/ Ego Ascending. The band say it was one of the best moments of their career, followed closely by headlining Oxford Street's 100 Club in December of the same year.

Its easy to make the Weller comparison with Darron J. Connett, but with influences coming from a lot of new groups such as Kaiser Chiefs and Guillemots, there's more to to them than just another throwback band, including a real electro edge to some of their work.

Currently playing London venues, the band are seldom short of a gig. Catch them soon and you might even hear a version of Python Lee Jackson's In A Broken Dream. Its the song the band would most like to cover!
