The mysterious, watery world beneath London鈥檚 bridges and quays are unveiled in a new exhibition at the Museum of London. Photographer Crispin Hughes captures the unseen world between the tides in a series of amazing panoramas. The 18 pictures, some of which can be seen on this website, capture the wild and empty scenes just metres below the heart of London.

The photographs explore the ancient timbers and modern structures under some of London鈥檚 most famous bridges and historic quays. Crispin Hughes says 'Thousands of people walk about above them every day not knowing that beneath their feet lurks this strange amphibious architecture.' You can listen to a sample of the soundtrack to the exhibition by using the link below or download the full 4 minute audio by visiting the Museum of Docklands website. Please note that the panoramic images on this website are low quality copies of the original photographs. The exhibition photographs are displayed as 2.38m wide prints.
