Blast Reporters

Have a Blast!

Do you love music, attending gigs and festivals? Or perhaps you live and breathe sport? If you want to tell the rest of the world about your passion, Blast could be for you!

Once again, an exciting opportunity has arisenÌý for young adults to work alongside radio and web reporters at 91Èȱ¬ Leicester.

This summer, the 91Èȱ¬ are looking for reporters to file copy on some of the best unsigned bands around and the top sport stories.

You'll have the opportunity to record and write your own reports (don't worry, we will help you!), see how radio programmes and web pages are put together as well as gaining great experience to put on your CV.

Music Reporter

You will be expected to go out and cover everything from Hip-Hop through Bhangra to Rock and Indie.

It's all about getting creative by writing reports, taking photos and even making videos about the events you have attended.

If you would love to have the opportunity to share your thoughts about and experiences of the local music scene, then Blast is for you!

You will need a proven interest in the music, and have the vision to turn your ideas into content for the web and radio.

Kicking a football

Sports Reporter

Athletics... football… cricket… hockey... calling all sports enthusiasts!

Do you want to be the next Colin Jackson, Gabby Logan or Manish Bhasin? Ever thought that you could actually turn your hobby into a career?

Well, being a Blast sports reporter could be for you!

You will need a proven interest in general sport and in particular the upcoming Special Olympics.

You'll already be involved in sports in your school, college or community, have the drive to succeed in your chosen sport and the creativity to turn your ideas into content for radio and the web.

8 Weeks Unpaid 91Èȱ¬ Work Experience Placement

91Èȱ¬ Blast Application

The Rules

The placement will last for eight weeks between July and September 2009.You will be expected to work two sessions a week.

Because of to Health and Safety considerations, you will have to be aged 18 or over to apply for this placement.

We welcome applicants from all age groups; however, this particular programme has been specifically designed for applicants from 18-22 age range in order to meet the learning requirements of that group.

So if you've got some spare time this summer and fancy adding ‘91Èȱ¬ Blast Reporter' to your list of achievements, then get applying as the deadline for applications is 30 April 2009.

You don't need to be a budding journalist, you just need passion and a desire to share it!
