East Midlands Airport has just released it's annual report highlighting an increase in complaints by over 3000. Last year the airport were forced to pay 拢42,000 in fines and surcharges imposed for breaking noise levels, a fee that they donated to local community groups. Rather than logging each phone call as one complaint, feedback is now broken down into specific incidents for the airport's records. The Power Of FiveEMA also noted that of the 7978 reported complaints in 2006, 60% came from just five individuals. Ear's to a quiet night! Peggy Beddoe, a resident of nearby Castle Donington, feels that the airport are trying to undermine these repetitive complainers by making them out to be pranksters. However EMA Environment Manager Neil Robinson indicated that this was not the organisation's intention: "We treat every complaint we get responsibly and professionally and I think these people have complained to us in good faith."
