Craig and Charlie came into the studios in Leeds to talk music, fame and football with Paul Carrington. Born in Leith in 1962, Craig and Charlie Reid grew up in Edinburgh, Cornwall and Auchtermuchty in Fife. At school they played in punk bands and formed The Proclaimers in 1983. In the chat the brothers explain to Paul how their big breakthrough came when a fan sent a Proclaimers demo tape, recorded in Inverness, to the Housemartins and how that led to their debut album. Hear how the 2007 version for Comic Relief of the band's I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) has made it to an end-of-the-evening anthem.

Written by Stephen Greenhorn, the drama follows the highs and lows of two soldiers returning home from Afghanistan. Comedian Matt Lucas is a huge fan saying "I find it hard to put into words quite how the music of The Proclaimers makes me feel. It makes me laugh. It makes me cry. It just makes me generally euphoric..." The Proclaimers will play Leeds Academy on Friday 30 October 2009. last updated: 27/05/2009 at 14:50 You are in: Leeds > 91热爆 Radio Leeds > 91热爆 Radio Leeds features > Sunshine on Leeds |
