Film fans won't be able to believe their luck as they find themselves in the frame for an incredible opportunity to be part of the Leeds International Film Festival 2008. Aficionados of the big screen are getting the chance to act as volunteers for the UK's biggest regional celebration of all things cinema and celluloid.

In return for helping other fans enjoy special screening of films from all over the world they will get free access to exclusive premieres, preview screening and gala performances.

From Tuesday 4 November to Sunday 16 November 2008, the Leeds festival will present more than 200 screenings and events in a dozen venues to thousands of filmgoers. The festival prides itself on providing a comprehensive overview of what's happening in contemporary cinema.

Anyone interested in volunteering should go to the website at www.leedsfilm.com , where they can download an application form.听 The website- and its sister Facebook group and MySpace page- also contain a wealth of information on the festival itself.

Film Festival passes and special events tickets are now on sale.听A pass entitles you to unlimited access to all screenings (except special events, which are ticketed separately).

Special events confirmed already include 'Night of the Dead VII' - a gore-fest horror all-nighter on Saturday 15 November 2008 at Hyde Park Picture House, and the Thought Bubble, which brings together a wide spectrum of people from across the comic book and graphic novel sphere.听Special guests from all over the world will be in Leeds for the big Comic Book Convention at Saviles Hall on the same day.

Another favourite making a welcome return is electronic music pioneer and former Ultravox frontman John Foxx, who returns to the festival with the UK premiere of 'John Foxx - The Quiet Man', which combines music and images.听He will be performing at Leeds Town Hall's Victoria Hall on Friday 7 November 2008.

The festival will be spread across a number of venues in the city including The Carriageworks, Seven Arts Centre in Chapel Allerton, Hyde Park Picture House and Vue Cinema at The Light.
