Fishing Fred and red cabbage on a bride's dress

In Germany there are two popular tongue twisters: Fischers Fritze fischt frische Fische, frische Fische fischt Fischers Fritze' which means that Fritz, the fisherman's son is fishing for fresh fish. If you can say this ten times without twisting your tongue, you're a real master of the language! The other goes like this: Brautkleid bleibt Brautkleid und Blaukraut bleibt Blaukraut. Though there is no deeper meaning in it ('a wedding dress will be a wedding dress and red cabbage will be red cabbage'), try to say it ten times and you'll certainly end up with red cabbage on your wedding dress ...

I'v been learning German for a couple of years at school and was intrigued by some of their tongue twisters!

I like these...I am trying to learn German right now and am coming along, I think, better than when I learned Spanish years ago. Tongue twisters like these are great! They make the rest of the language look simple!

Compared to English .... German certainly has tough tongue twisters.
