Idiots moving house

Our French host was surprised when I announced Nous avons bougé la maison (literally, we have moved house). Then we realised he thought we had physically moved our house to different location! It seems the French don't move house, they changer de maison or »å鳾é²Ô²¹²µ±ð°ù. He was also somewhat surprised when I tried to say Nous sommes des Chrétiens, we are Christians. He thought I has said Nous sommes des crétins, we are idots!

Christine is correct, in French we use the adjective, e.g. on est mulsulman, je suis juive, nous sommes chrétiens. No capital letters.

I believe it be more normal to say nous sommes chrétiens. The addition of the des probably added to the confusion.
