On a recent skiing holiday my wife asked me to check if it was ok to go into a posh shop with ski boots on. I promptly went in and asked if they minded if she walked on le plafond with boots on. They were quite amused and puzzled as clearly most people walk on the floor, rather then "the ceiling".
