Use teletext

If you have satellite tv, try to find a tv channel broadcasting in the language that you are learning and try reading some of the teletext. Because of the limitations on the number of words which can be on each page, the text on the pages is often simplified and easier to read for beginners.

Teletext in Germany:
In Germany the big public TV stations like
ARD, Das Erste, ZDF, Das Zweite and the public regional programms like WDR, BR, NDR....offer a caption-service via Teletext.
For example: ARD, go to the site p. 150 and you will be able to read the captions of the "Tagesschau", most watched Newsshow in Germany.
With the ZDF you find it on page 777.
When there are no captions availabel you will read. Keine UT ( Keine Untertitel)
