Tibetan

I would like to ensure that Tibetan is recognised as an endangered language. There is mainstream Tibetan and also the main dialects from the major regions.
The Tibetans living in the diaspora do their best to learn their language in order to retain it, and those living inside Tibet can speak it at home, however Mandarin is the imposed language for schools and employment, so this is a direct threat to the survival of the Tibetan language.

Despite all attempts by China, Tibetan is alive and well and spoken by more and more people in India, in exile, by Westerners, at University level... and by six million Tibetans otherwise silenced and brutalized and forcibly 're-educated'in plundered and occupied Tibet.

It would be a sad world if one language dominates. Which remain is complicated, but it defines cultures, and cultural subtleties, customs and mores.

Tibetan language or bhokay is dying because most of the young children are speaking the mainstream language of their colonizer and the govt of China is not helping to increase the use of Tibetan language, which is very sad.
