Viva Brasil (Brazil)

We're living in Brazil. Back in Britain my 2-year-old son had a medical condition. Since we moved his condition improved within three weeks. It was considered as untreatable in the the UK. Life is wonderful for us all here. I should have followed my heart earlier then maybe he would not have gone through what he went through back home. The children are wonderfully bilingual but unfortunately my Portuguese is very poor. We have set up a business in education which is going well. We've bought a beautiful house in a very good part of Brazil. We love our life here. We have accomplished in six months what we would have tried to complete in our whole life back in the UK and no matter which famous doctor my son was treated by in England they could not make his life better, but Brazil created a miracle. Viva Brasil.

Well, I was born in Brazil but left the country at the age of 11. I was raised in Brooklyn and always had that sort of feeling that swings b'ween homesickness and nostalgia of what I'd never experienced. Having family in the country was great but I don't rly reckon I'd ever feel at home. In my mid-30s decided to do the big journey back to my roots and rly found a helluva country. It's amazing how developed Brazil is in so many walks of living. It takes time though to get used to poor basic services like public transport for instance in a city like Brasilia [aka "the Jetsons on steroids kind of a town"]. Ppl are friendly but not that much and criminality is another problem in big cities anywhere in the country, though it's not as bad as the news say.

I wish more people could come over for the same purposes. Our atmosphere is really unique, cause even with the problems our "third world country" has, we still know how to take the verb "LIVE" seriously. There is no other people in the world who can really enjoy life like we do.
Thank you for your comments and rates about Brazil. I wish you and your family the best.

I loved your story and I wish people could say the same thing about my country, but to the others we're always the country of samba, bossa nova, beautiful beaches and carnival ...
