Cup Winners

The annual Cup Finals concluded the 2007-8 Poulton Primary season at Thornton Cleveleys FC...

Lytham Juniors Under 10s completed an excellent ‘double’ by collecting the Coulton Cup to add to their Div 1A League Championship Trophy after beating Thornton Cleveleys by a 2-0 aggregate score after a hard fought tussle. Strikes by Sam W and Ben A put Lytham in the driving seat with a 2-0 A game victory. Although Thornton battled hard in the B game to pull back the deficit they couldn’t penetrate a solid Lytham rearguard and it finished in a goalless draw.

In the Under 10 Plate Final, Div 1A runners up YMCA came out on top with an overall 3-1 victory over Clifton Rangers after two close encounters. YMCA emerged slender 2-1 winners of the A game with goals from Josh C and Owen F, Isaac B on target for Rangers. The B game was just as close but YMCA edged a 1-0 win, a strike by Dave C sealing the issue.

In the Under 9 Coulton Cup Final, Foxhall took the trophy with a 6-1 aggregate win over FC Rangers after 4-1 and 2-0 victories. In the Under 9 Plate Final Fleetwood Town emerged overall 6-1 victors against Kirkham JFC with 2-0 and 4-1 wins.
