As expected the closest game in the Under 10 Coulton Cup semi听was between 2nd and 3rd in Div 1A, YMCA and South Shore respectively. Shore always looked stronger side in the A game and a goal in each half gave them a deserved 2-0 victory. However, in the B game it was YMCA who were generally on top throughout but they fell behind to a rather fortuitous goal by Shore from a rare attack. This put YMCA 3-0 behind on aggregate but they still kept battling away. Strikes by Jordan W and Carl K created a tense finish but Shore hung on to clinch an overall 3-2 victory. Shore will meet Lytham Juniors in the final on 28th April after they overcame Poulton Town 7-2 on aggregate. The damage was done in the A game as four goals from James C helped Lytham to a 6-0 victory. Ryan D and Ryan R were Lytham鈥檚 other marksmen. Town though made a fight of it in the B game and with goals by Domonic L and William M they emerged 2-1 winners but they never looked likely to overcome the overall deficit. Harry G was Lytham鈥檚 marksmen. In the Under 10 Plate competition, Kirkham clinched a place in the final with a 4-0 overall victory over Clifton Rangers with 2-0 victories in both games. Matthew M and Jack S were their marksmen in the A game with Charlie C bagging both goals in the B contest. They will meet Blackpool Rangers in the final after their slender 2-1 aggregate win against Foxhall. Rangers won the A game 2-0 with Foxhall emerging 1-0 winners in the B contest.听 In League action, Fleetwood Gym shared the points against Wyre Juniors which clinched Gym the Div 1B championship trophy.听 They emerged 3-0 winners of the A game by battling Wyre came out 2-1 on top in the B game with goals by Matthew B-N and Corey P. |
