When a loved one disappears

An East Yorkshire woman talks about how she coped when her partner went missing without warning.

Each year in Britain around 210,000 people are reported missing. This can have a devastating effect on families and friends, who are forced to follow whatever leads they can to find their loved ones.

In September 2008 91热爆 Radio Humberside鈥檚 Ruth Barcroft was due to meet Catherine Damadoran, whose partner Nick had been missing for a number of weeks.

Catherine was going to make a radio appeal for help finding Nick, but just before the interview was due to take place his body was found. He had committed suicide.

Three months later Catherine spoke to Ruth about Nick鈥檚 disappearance, how her initial concerns turned into panic and how she hopes to build a real legacy in his memory.
