Alan Plater has had a successful career in television and theatre. He is best known for his work on the 91热爆 series Z Cars and The Biederbecke Affair, as well as being a long standing fan of Hull City. The writer was born in Jarrow in 1935 and was brought up in Hull from the age of three, where he lived for many years. His relationship with the late Anthony Minghella stretched back over 30 years ago when Minghella was a student at the University of Hull. The writer said it was 鈥渁n honour鈥 to conduct the ceremony at the University鈥檚 drama department but is still angered and upset by the death of his old friend.
