Every Picture Tells a StoryYou are in: Humber > 91热爆 Radio Humberside > Steve Redgrave's Late Show > Every Picture Tells a Story > Sara Woodward and Phil Whyman Sara Woodward and Phil WhymanDo you see anything remarkable in this picture? Probably not, but the Sara Woodward who took this picture says it changed her way of thinking about 'the paranormal'. The picture is of one of the rooms at RAF (Royal Air Force) Holmpton which began life as RAF Patrington although the names were interchanged over the years. It was built as a radar defence installation and in its heyday was home to around 350 military personnel. These days, the venue is open for viewing from spring through to early winter to members of the public. The location has become a 'haunt' for paranormal investigators to take along groups of people in an effort to see if there are any ghostly goings on. Sara and Phil have been investigating the paranormal for some time and Phil has been seen presenting on TV's 'Most Haunted', trying to find concrete evidence of the existence of paranormal activity. Phil took copious notes when co-presenter Yvette Fielding and medium Derek Acorah visited some of Britain's alleged haunted places. His notes formed a basis for further research to support the programme makers and he remains to be fully convinced about some of the claims made by psychics but says he'd like to be there when incontrovertible evidence presents itself. Sara has also worked on a related TV series, 'Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns - Live'. She and her team were asked to film segments at the Jorvik Centre in York which were included in the programme and says the experience was somewhat unnerving as she and the team roamed the dark deserted re-creation of a Viking village. Phil and Sara are re-visiting RAF Holmpton in May with members of the public who are invited to take part in a ghost hunt. There is a cost involved and Phil says he and his team do not set out to 'scare' people deliberately and anything that happens, is in his view genuine. So popular has been the interest generated by the likes of 'Most Haunted', that it's become a business for Phil and his team. 'Dead Haunted Nights' takes groups all over the country including the Galleries of Justice in Nottingham and the Peterborough Museum in search of the unexplained. As for Sara's picture; Sara says she saw an RAF officer in uniform standing clearly before her and immediately took a photograph. When the picture was reviewed there was 'nothing' to be seen. Sara says this has made her much less sceptical about the existence of ghosts and paranormal activity. last updated: 15/04/2008 at 13:11 You are in: Humber > 91热爆 Radio Humberside > Steve Redgrave's Late Show > Every Picture Tells a Story > Sara Woodward and Phil Whyman |
