Projects at the centre are aimed at young people who wish to start out or find out more about the music industry. The centre allows youngsters to learn how to play instruments, work together and record as a band, access rehearsal space, find out more about recording opportunities as well as help with organising gigs and technical tips.

The opportunity to showcase at the annual Hull Creative Voice Music Festival is as good as Glastonbury for many young performers. Tom, aged 14, has been going to the centre for over three years to learn and practice playing his rock guitar. 鈥淭he centre offers a lot of activities and resources that the majority of youth centres in Hull simply don't have access to." said Tom. Paul Hawksworth, a youth worker at the centre finds that neighbouring centres tend only to cater for young people on nearby estates.

The attraction of Kingston鈥檚 projects is that they are 鈥渁ppealing, accessible to everyone and fun to be part of鈥. The centre benefits from being yards from the centre of the city.听It has access to all public transport, important to attract young people. Paul says: 鈥淭he project thrives on keeping young people off the streets and helps to involve them in a creative interest and that they all find extremely enjoyable鈥.
