Wintringham kids on the wheels of steel
Have you ever wondered what it takes to master the decks and become a vinyl legend?
Pupils at Wintringham High school in Grimsby found out when they got their hands on two turntables, a mixer and a bag full of twelve inch records.
DJ Redlocz teaches turntable tricks
Under the watchful eye of Dave ‘DJ Redlocz’ Okwesia they learnt how to beat-match, scratch and cut records.
Using various genres of music like dance and hip-hop they found out which ones match together when mixing.
The DJ’s worked on their on stage skills and then flexed their credentials on the wheels of steel in front of an expectant audience.
To top it all, the whole thing was captured on video by Blast!
So what’s next for the budding break-beat bandits? They'll be using the footage to edit together a promo video of their performance and then it'll be time to hit the dance-floor!
