Coastal Humber

Coastal Humber

The coastline between Flamborough Head and Cleethorpes is rich in history, spanning fifteen hundred years from the dark ages through to modern times.

It also holds more than a few secrets, from the major port which was lost to the sea, to a huge underground nuclear bunker. But it also holds some fascinating stories of those whose lives have been influenced by the coast.

Vic Crosthwaite.

June Barton.

June spends almost every day walking here on the Fossdyke and Kirton marshes on the edge of the Wash.

She's always lived within half a mile of where she was born - here on the edge of the marsh. Since then she's written books and given talks about it, and that's how she's acquired her unofficial title.
