My name is Bernard ~Chapman and am now 79 years old. I was called up on my 18th Birthday in May, 1943 and served in the Royal Navy until 1946. During the War I lost one brother in the Royal Navy (Russian Convoys) and one brother who was a P.O.W. in Italy. In 1943 the Italians left the war and the prison gates were opened, My brother stayed in Italy to organise, quite successfully, a group of partisans until February 1945 when he was betrayed by some members of his group, led into an ambush and shot dead. I have a great interest in all things pertaining to that war.
