I am a member of the organising committee for the monument to the Women of World War II, which The Queen will unveil in Whitehall on Saturday 9 July. It will commemorate all the women who served in the services and on the home front. Baroness Boothroyd is our patron and The Princess Royal and Dame Vera Lynn are among our vice-patrons. The ceremony is planned for 3pm but those wishing to attend are advised to come early as Whitehall will be closed to traffic on that day. Our wesbite is:
