My Dad, Fred Cole, was Bomb Aimer in a Lancaster, known as 'MIKE' based at East Kirkby, 57 Squadron, from May 1944 - October 1944. I know the wherabouts of all his crew except Doug Salisbury, Rear Gunner, who came from (in my Dad's words) up north somewhere and some of his crew mates would dearly love to know what became of him and where he is now. The main crew members were Phil Ainley, Pilot, Les Bradbear, Navigator, Alf Fishburn, Navigator (deceased) and Arnold McTrowe, Mid Upper Gunner (deceased). They flew on 33 missions together.

I have been on quite a journey editing and compiling my Dad's war time experiences for the posterity of his/my family. It has been quite a humbling and extroadinary journey and a priviledge to have been party to and record on behalf of my Dad, who incidently is still very much alive and kicking!!!

If anyone knows of or are family of Doug Salisbury I would very much like to hear from you.

In hopes,
Sue
