I can well remember the night the docks were all set alight by bombers coming over in droves. When we finally emerged from the Anderson shelter and saw out house had gone and bodies of friends and neighbours still smouldering it was a horrific sight that I have never forgotten. It was like standing in the middle of hell.
When I had my computer two years ago I found that I could register on the Evacuee Registry and ever since then I have helped youngsters to understand what it was like to have lived through those years.
HOW COULD I EVER FORGET.Maisie Walker.
