My father was withthe Coldstreams in the G.A.D. and landed on Gold beach as part of the British Second Army.
I am able to trace his push forward by way of his diary up until December 1944.Then Ihave followed the Coldstream Book 'Second to None'. However, I would like someone's help in establishing some points. i.e. he mentions that they came under the command of 82nd airborne at Nijmegen and that on 2nd October they crosssed the Rhine - so presumably they were in Germany. Could this be so? He also spoke about the Wesel bridgehead and I remember reading a news paper clipping by the Times war correspondent
covering this story. I shall be very interested if anyone has any information on this too.
Infact any additional info on the Coldstreamers from SS Empire Gladstone, Capriquet Airport,Caen,Arras, Escaut Canal and Oss.
Thank you.
