I was a schoolboy in WWII and later did my National Service in the Royal Signals and served in King Troop, 3 Squadron, 1st Commonwealth Division Signals Regiment from 1:10:1952 for exactly 1 year in the troop which provided the communications for the 28 British Commonwealth Infantry Brigade.
I am now the secretary of the Essex No.1 Colchester Branch of the British Korean Veteran Association. We have recruited 6 new Korean Veterans into this branch so far in 2005. There are 59 branches of the BKVA throughout the UK. The association is very active and is affiliated to the International Korean War Veterans Association in Seoul. We have strong contacts with South Korea and all Commonwealth countries and the USA.
