I am trying to find out about my dad's war career. He was Tom Carney (known as Tim). He was from Bradfod in Yorkshire, and was a driver in the Royal Signals and the Army Catering Corps.
He didn't talk about the war other than a few light hearted exploits.
He was at Habbaniya in Iraq, and the did the full Monty tour of North Africa and Italy, staying in Italy until 1946 (on the grounds that he was afraid of flying!).
Along the way, he was at El Alamein, Cassino, Bari, Foggia and Milan, and probably many other places.

I would be very pleased to hear from anybody who knew him whilst he was "fighting for you in the desert" or in Italy.

Ian
