He's the reason I'm here. He died several years ago, aged 87. I regret I didn't write down his many war time stories when he was alive. Now I'm on a quest to find out more about him and where he was in 1944.

He took part in the D-Day Landings on Sword Beach where he landed with the Kings Own Scottish Borderers on 6th June 1944.

Through sites like this one pieces of a confusing jigsaw are beginning to slot into place and I'm learning about the villages and areas of Normandy he would have visited and what action he was in.

Anyone with knowledge of his batallion who were part of the 9th Infantry Brigade of the 3rd Division who landed on Sword. Email me on denspark1560@aol.com
