My parents, Eileen Murray and Noel Taylor,were civilians at the outbreak of war, served in the Royal Navy during the war, and met whilst still serving in Germany shortly after the war. They are both alive, over 80 years old, but do not have access to a computer - hence, I am their mouthpiece.
They both had fascinating and unusual war experiences.
Eileen was a WREN stationed at Bletchley Park and carried out classified work on ULTRA, cracking the Enigma codes.
Noel was a Royal Navy telegraphist who served with a unit called Party Funshore, with Canadian and troops and Royal Marine Commandos, and went ashore on D-Day and later took part in the Walcheren landings.
Their experiences are told in three stories.
