I have posted posted my father's memoir of his service with 51st Highland Division 1939-44 and the Cameronians in Burma in 1945.

My mother was a Wren Cook at Officers Messes(?) at a number of FAA stations mainly Arbroath and Montrose. I remember her stories of a posting which involved a station with battle fatigue victims of the Russian Convoys. Also her saying that some aircraft types regarded as dangerous and unpopular had ground crashes which were not necessarily accidental.

My Paternal Grandfather and great uncles fought in highland regiments in the First World War. They survived though gassed and wounded a number of times. One of them discharged through wounds then joined the Merchant Navy and was torpedoed.

My maternal grandmother was a trained nurse at the main military hospital in Manchester in WW1 and we still have few photos of the Ward
