My family was on the 3rd of December 1944 in the middle of "the perfect battle of Blerick".

During operation Nutcracker the Germans were knocked out of the western part of the Maasregion near Venlo. The Germans had a last stronghold and the second British Army overrun the last German resistance with assistance of the 79th divsision with their 'funnies'.

The battle was called "The perfect battle of Blerick".

As a tribute to the liberation of the Netherlands I made a website: http://49rtr.tiscaliweb.nl
