I was born in 1925 in a small village and went to a small village school and left at the age of 14, I then worked on local farms.and did not have mutch experence of life outside of the village. When I was eighteen I was called upon to join the Army 21 April 1944, I did my training and was sent to help with the war in Eourope where I served with the 111 Mobile Ambulance Company 30 corp as dvr R A S C as a Dispatch Rider until the end of the war in eourope.
I was then sent to the Middle East to help to keep order against the Jews who were trying to
set up a new country in Palastine
I was demobed 21 April 1946

I was called Tommey Handley most of my army service owing to the fact that Tommy Handley of Itma fame was a great programe on the wirelessa atthat time.
